FEW SPRING TOUCHES FURS AND TWEEDS AGAIN though fine the weather on SaturJ day to'r the first clay of the Avondale i | Jockey Club's Spring Meeting was not | : wavm enough for many of the new | j spring frocks to be worn and many | J people were in fur coats and tweed | i ensembles. Tailored suits in black and j j many of the varying shades of blue i | accompanied by fur necklets were ex- j | tensivelv worn. A few of the new linen > suits were to be seen, in most cases , j worn with dark satin and checked j tall eta blouses and scarves. Several of ! the new pancake berets which promise ; to be :so popular this spring, made their | appearance, and although in some cases I difficult to wear they looked extremely ! smart when made in felt and stitched ! taffeta. j Among those present were:—Mrs. !
