NO JURORS REQUIRED
GISBORNE SESSIONS For the second time in succession, the services of nil jurors summoned for (lie quarterly sitting of the Supreme Court at Gisborne this week are to be dispensed with before the opening of the sitting. The somewhat unusual procedure of dispensing with the services of the grand jury was introduced before the last quarterly Gisborne sitting opened, owing to the fact that with no criminal cases for trial, there was nothing to occupy the attention of the grand jurors. For this week's sitting there is again a clean sheet as far as criminal cases are concerned, and instructions have been issued, therefore, for lite grand jurors to be notified that they need not attend the Court. This exemption applies also to common jurors. A civil action was set down on the list for hearing by the Judge and a jury, but advice lias been received now that if I l.is action conies to trial, it will be heard before the Judge alone.
