PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

ANNIVERSARY SERVICES BIRKENHEAD AND AVONDALE Large congregations attended the services yesterday in connection with the anniversary of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Birkenhead. The preacher in the evening was the Rev. Morrison Sutherland, and the choir, conducted by Mr. 11. Smellie, was augmented by the children, trained by Mr. R. B. Bickerton. The organist was Mrs. Nisbet and the pianist Mrs. W. Pratt.

it is 75 years since Presbyterian Church services were commenced in the Avondale area, and arrangements are in hand to commemorate tho building of the church and the foundation of tho charge, by special functions in the early part of next year. As a prelude, yesterday's services were set apart as a reunion of old members and those associated in the past with the congregation and Sunday School. There were large attendances. The present minister is the Rev. J. H. Combes.
