VAN DRIVER HURT

COLLISION IN DOMAIN A fracture of a thigh, concussion and abrasions were suffered by Mr. V. Alev, aged 30, married, of 6 Atarangi Road, Onchunga, when a small delivery van he was driving struck a lamp standard in the Domain Drive shortly after mid-day. Mr. Alev, who was the only occupant of the van, had turned into the Domain Drive from Park Road, and had proceeded about 25yds. when the accident occurred. The right side of the van was extensively damaged and the steering wheel was broken, the driver being pinned in the van. He was extricated by passers-by. A stretcher was hastily brought from the Auckland Hospital and tho injured man was admitted. His condition is not considered to bo serious.
