MINISTER RESIGNS

BERESFORD STREET CHURCH The resignation of the pastorate of the Bercsford Street Congregational Church, to take effect from the end of April next, has been announced by the Rev. A. V. Whiting. Mr. Whiting had previously tendered his resignation to the diaconate last year, but had been persuaded to take three months' leave of absence. Since his return he has decided to go to Fngiand next year. Mr. Whiting was appointed to succeed the Rev. Lionel B. Fletcher in April, 19.'52, and has rendered invaluable service to the church. He previously was in charge of the Congregational Churches at Onehunga-- and New Lynn. A committee has been appointed to select Mr. Whiting's successor.
