PROTECTION OF PRODUCERS ASSURANCE BY MR. BENNETT OTTAWA, Oct.' 23 No group of financiers will be permitted to ruin Canadian wheat producers. stated the Prime Minister, Mr. It. B. Bennett. A " raid" on the Bank of England, said Mr. Bennett, had forced England off the gold standard, and a similar group was endeavouring to break wheat prices. The Canadian people had sent to the United States, in speculative losses on grains and stocks during the past 25 years, a sum equal to the public debt.
