BURNED BY HOT TALLOW
YOUNG MAN IN HOSPITAL [by telegraph—OWN correspondent] HAMILTON, Wednesday Splashed with hot tallow, Mr. William Joseph Carlisle, aged 29, single, received severe and painful burns to the head, face and chest while working at the boiling-down factory of Messrs. J. D. and T. Wallace, at Leamington, Cambridge, to-day. His eyes also were badly scalded. Mr. Carlisle was engaged in taking tallow from a largo drum, when it suddenly splashed over his body as far as his waist. He was taken to the Waikato Hospital. His condition was at first serious, but an improvement was shown this evening.
