Parmentier and his crew and three passengers arrived at Darwin at 8.30 a.m. to-day and after refuelling, left at 9.6 a.m. for Melbourne. They landed at Charleville at 6.30 p.m. and left there again at 8 p.m. (10 p.m. New Zealand time). On arrival here Mr. Parmentier said: " We are all more or less fresh. My passengers say they are very fit and those of us who have worked are feeling good now that the noise of the machine has left our ears. Naturally we are simply on a world tour by air. We are not rushing madly, although we have maintained a. fairly high cruising speed, because she is only one of our standard air liners and we aro not making extraordinary hops. " I€ it is possible to take on petrol at Cloncurry wo will do so, wijthout attempting a non-stop run to Charleville. That is what we have been doing all along the route." Prior to his departure Mr. Parmentier said: " Scott is a great sport. I like him very much and I wish him the best of luck. I have no doubt he will make Melbourne and win the race." NEW ZEALAND CREW BOUND FOR CALCUTTA , (Received October 23, 8.5 p.m.) ALLAHABAD, Oct. 23 The New Zealanders, SquadronLeader M. C. McGregor and Mr. H. C. Walker, left Allahabad at 8.51 a.m. for Calcutta. Theirs was the first light aeroplane to arrive at Allahabad. Squadron - Leader McGregor said sleepiness was the only thing that, was bothering him. However, he intended to push on to Rangoon before getting a good night's rest.
