LIFE-SAVING CLUB

PROGRESS AT OPOTIK! [FROM OCR OWN correspondent] OPOTIK I, Monday There was a. large attendance on the Waiotaiii Beach, Opotiki. yesterday afternoon to witness the opening of the new clubhouse tor tiie Opotiiti Surf Life-saving Club. The building will be used to house the club' 3 reel. Bathing sheds have also been built. The president of th* Wniotahi Beach Improvement Society. Mr. Li. Semple. in formally opening the clubhouse, said he hoped the club would continue its useful work. Mr. Seville, on behalf of the club, thanked the society for having provided these very necessary buildings. A demonstration o£ a surf "rescue" was given by the club's A team. The club's teams will patrol the beach on all Sundays and holidays throughout the season.
