This automatic control is becoming a standard feature of most modern electric equipment and further demonstrates the wonderful strides science has made toward saving labour and worry. Progress is being made very rapidly in the manufacture of all electrical equipment, and this is not only ensuring greater reliability but it is making it possible to purchase these appliances at prices no greater than those ruling in the past for other equipment. An electric radio, iron, kettle or stove costs no more than was paid in the past for battery radios, Potts' irons, etc. New Zealand's hydro-electrical developments have made an abundant supply of electricity available for all domestic and commercial purposes, almost completely eliminating laborious domestic tasks and assisting industrial production and development. Never before has it been possible for such perfected labour-saving devices to be available for installation in the home in such a comparatively young country.
