CHAMPIONSHIP REGATTA NEXT FIXTURE AT AUCKLAND [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION*] WELLINGTON, Thursday The annual meeting of the New Zealand Amateur Rowing Association was held to-night, when it was decided to hold the next New Zealand championship regatta at Auckland on March 2, and the inter-provincial eights at Duuedin on Easter Saturday. The president, Mr. W. J. Girling, mentioned that this season the Canterbury Rowing Club was celebrating the 75th anniversary of its foundation. North Shore its 60th anniversary, and Otago, Waikato, Blenheim, St. George, Gisborne and Wellington Clubs their 50th anniversaries. Mr. Girling expressed satisfaction at the very fine position in which the association was placed financially. The following new rule, proposed by the Marlborough Association, was carried, "A welter-weight junior oarsman or sculler shall not weigh more than lOst 71b on the day of a race, and winners in this class for one year shall not lose their junior status except in the welter-weight junior class, and shall be eligible to compete in the open junior class." It was decided to draw up specifica-, tions for the standardisation of eightoared boats in New Zealand. Officers were elected . as follows: President, Mr. H. W. Hudson (Auckland); vice-presidents, Messrs. W. J. Girling (Marlborough), F. D. Kesteven (Canterbury); council, Messrs. A. Cockroft (Southland), AI. A. Turner (Canterbury), G. Lauchlan (Wanganui), H.
