BIBLE TRANSLATION
PREACHER'S CRITICISM LONDON. Oct. 14, Canon Hannay, otherwise George Birmingham, well-known author, preaching at Kensington Gore, compared the translation of the Bible with the dedication to King James. Written by the very same men, this contains every possible fault in English prose except the split infinitive, he said. " We can only suppose that while translating they possessed some power which might be called inspiration," remarked the speaker.
