WRECK OF WINTON

VESSEL SOLD FOR £SOO The wreck of the 5000-ton steamer Winton, which went ashore in Table Bay, South Africa, on July 28, has been sold for £SOO. The vessel was well known at Auckland, where she had visited a number of times. At the time of the wreck, she was en route from Australia to Great Britain with a large cargo of wheat. When afloat, the steamer and cargo were valued at £130,000.
