PARENTS' CLUB

The formation of a Parents' Club for the promotion of all movements fostering the welfare of children in the Otahtihu district was intimated at the annual children's dance of the Otahuhu Plunket Society on Friday evening. It was mentioned that a body of ladies had formed themselves into a club and would undertake the organisation of public entertainments and functions to raise funds. The flew body would not be associated entirely with any organisation or movement, although the Plunket Society and others would probably be represented by one or other of their members acting with the Parents' Club. The funds raised would be distributed among various bodies concerned in child welfare work, and it was hoped that considerable success would attend the venture. The fact that many of the members of the new club have had long association and experience.in the sort of work being undertaken, through one or other of tbe local organisations, promises well for the successful development of the new idea.
