ATHENIAN CLUB

The final social for the year of the Athenian Club was held in the Amateur Operatic Society's hall on Saturday evening. The programme, , which was entitled "A Back to Childhood Evening," was organised by the members 'of the committee. An amusing opening scene was provided by Mrs. Wilfred Wright,' Mrs. Xen. Smithy Mrs. A. Guy, Mrs. Clifton Lewis, Miss Buchanan, Miss Sarah Stacpoole, Miss C. Seale, Miss Ada Owen, Mr. Wilfred Wright, Mr. Smith, Mr. Lewis, Mr. C. Seale, and Mr. P. Dawes. The remainder of the programme was given bv Miss Coleman, Mr. Stephenson, Mr. D. Stark and Mr. J. O'Brien. The Clarion quartette (Miss Beryl Smith, Miss Lilian Woods, Mr. Duncan Black, Mr. Harvey) gave several items, and a demonstration of modern ballroom dancing was provided by Miss Mabel Johnson and Mr. J.
