SCALDS PROVE FATAL
MAORI GIRL'S DEATH [by telegraph—OWN correspondent], ROTORUA, Sunday A five-year-old Maori girl, Makareti Tikena. daughter of Mrs. Timu Watikena, died early this morning as a result of scalds received in an accident at Whakarewarewa last Monday. The giri had been bathing with other children in a warm bath and was making her way home when she slipped off a narrow path and fell into a hot pool. Following the accident she was attended by the district nurse, Miss Cameron, under whose care she at first made good progress.
