ALEXANDER CLEAN-UP Alexander Mines, Limited (Reefton) reports the following return for September (August figures being given in parentheses): 312 (309) tons! of ore for 181oz. 14dwt. (2130z.) of melted gold. Cyanide treatment: 207 (140) tons of sand for si return of 58oz. 2dwt. (370z. 6dwt.) oi: bullion. MOSSY CREEK DREDGE The Mossy Creek Gold Dredging Company, Limited (West Coast), reports that the work of building the dredge is nearing completion, End it is expected that it will be in operation before the end of this mo:ath. i MOUNT MORGAN RESULTS | The return from Mount Morgan mine j (Queensland) for the month ending 'September 19 was 26720z. from 11,709 i tons of ore, compared with 22330z. from 14,021 tons in tho preceding month. REPORTS OF MANAGERS Golconda (Thames). —We had to retimber tho main drive in the east crosscut. This .work was done while we were pumping out the flow of water cut in the 70ft. level, which is in hand. The crosscut in the reef into the footwall is timbered up to where tho water broke through] The reef, as far as we can see, is underlying about 1-1 and the quartz thrown out is carrying nice minerals and a fair amount of antimony. Moanataiari Golconda Consolidated (Thames). —The contractors have advanced the drive 26ft. for the week ending October 5. The country continues to be mild and mineralised as before.
