NATIONAL LOTTERY
CONSERVATIVES APPROVE PROPOSAL IN ENGLAND LONDON, Oct. 5 At the Conservative Party's confer«»nce to-day Mr. J. C. C. Davidson submitted a motion urging the establishment of a national lottery. He said that ordinary citizens resented attempts'to prevent a "flutter" and pointed out that French lotteries had recently contributed £13,000,000 to the Treasury. Mr. Davidson, suggested 10s tickets, 5s tc be devoted to prizes and the reremainder to financing; work of national importance instead of allowing £50,000,000 to go to sweepstakes abroad. The resolution wasi passed enthusiastically. .
