A suggwfion that the Canterbury Jockey Club should' conduct a plebiscite among racegoers to aiicertain their wishes in regard to bellinir facilities was made by Mr. F. W. Johnston at a general meeting of members of the club this week. Mr. Johnston Baid his proposal was that at one of the meetings cards should be distributed «t the. entrance gates to all those coming in, asking them to express an opinion -M to which system the public wanted, win and place or single pool. He thought it would be a wonderful thing for the club to come out into the open and Bhow thai; it was progressive by taking a plebiscite. . Tho Chairman, Mr. A. S.
