TAXING IMPERIAL PENSIONS

Sir, —I would like to add my voice to the grievance of taxing Imperial pensions. My pension is a long-service one; it is raised by taxation in Great Britain. In that same country I have relations out of work. The New Zealand Government takes one shilling per pound of my pension and adds it to the New Zealand unemployed fund. The unemployed in the country where the money is raised get nothing. Surely it is only right, if the pension is to he taxed at all, it should he by those who raise it. Also, my pension is just large enough to prevent my sharing in a funjl to which I am forced to subscribe. A.J.
