GOULBURN TO SYDNEY EXCELLENT • PERFORMANCES (Received September 23. 5.5 p.m.) SYDNEY, Sept. 23 R. Confoy, of Goulburn, with a handicap of 43m 30s, won the Goulburn to Sydney amateur road cycling race in 5h 46m 27 4-ss. C. Staples, of Goulburn, with a handicap of 55m won the professional race over the same journey in 6h 0m 365. An amateur, C. Winterbottom, starting from scratch, recorded the fastest time and easily broke the record. He covered the distance in 5h 23m, improving on the record by a quarter of an hour.
