WELL - KNOWN SOUTH ISLAND PEAKS ASCENDED WITH SKIS Guide M. Bowie (left) and Mr. A. Wigley, who, together with Mr. H. Wigley, last week-end made an ascent of the Minarets (10,050 ft), which can be seen in the background. It is believed to be the greatest height to which skis have been taken in New Zealand. The snow conditions were unfavourable! the party taking six and a-half hours to reach the summit. The return trip took two hours.
