DEAR BOYS AND GIRLS,—
As you see, the Letter-box is opened at last, not because we have been able to use up all the standing copy, but because I know so many of you are waiting patiently to send in items. But there is one condition to be observed, now that the Letter-box is open please do no': send in any copied items, as 1 have so many on hand that there is no chance of any more being used for a very long time. Alir..ost all the Spring letters have been printed/now, and it would be a good idea to have another oi our popuJcir ** special subject Letterwriting contests. From the juniors, up to 12 years, we might have letters on *' The Most Interesting Thing I Saw on the Way to School This Week. That doesn't necessarily mean lamba frisking in a country field, a run-away horse or a tram accident—it iai just anything that strikes your fancy and leads to a train of thought. It might be a line of /high-tension wire towers stretching down the country side, it might be a beautiful building or a row of street hoardings; the main point is the training in observation and the building up of a word-picture through the eye. From the seniors, up to 16 years, I woujd like some letters on " This Last Term." What does the last term, perhaps the close of school days, mean to you?
