HOWICK TOWN BOARD

At the first meeting of the newlyelected Howiek Town Board on Thursday night, Mr. H. H. Bushell was reelected chairman. A request was received from the bowling and croquet clubs for assistance to complete the new rock retaining wall adjoining the clubs' lawns. It was agreed to provide labour to complete the construction, as the clubs had already expended £2B on the work. It was decided to take action against several persons who had refused to clear their sections of noxiotis weeds. It was agreed to approach the member of the Hospital Board for the district, the Rev. W. C. Wood, with a view to appointing a successor to the district nurse. Mi,ss J. Watt, who had found it impossible to comply with the wishes of the board and withdraw resignation.
