BEAUTIFYING MERCER
[from our own correspondent] MERCER, Thursday Through the efforts of the Mercer branch of the Women'B Division of the Farmers' Union, the beautihcation of the township is receiving attention. A start is to be made on, Saturday afternoon at the War Memorial, which stands at the western end of the main street facing the Waikato River an the hills beyond. . The area round the memorial w being prepared and ornamental are to be planted by leading residents. It is anticipated that there _wiil * large attendance of the public on Saturday afternoon* r.r } V
