TE PAPAPA SCHOOL
TWENTY-FIRST ANNIVERSARY REUNION OF EX-PUPILS / The twenty-first anniversary of the opening the Te Papapa District School was celebrated by the reunion of a large number of ex-pupils and teachers in the Foresters' Theatre, Onehunga, on Wednesday night. The main school at Te Papapa was opened in 1913. It is a fine brick structure containing eight classrooms and other accommodation. In ' 1927 the infant school, a wooden building containing four classrooms, was added. Ihe first headmaster was Mr. S. H. Macky, and his successors have been Messrs. H. Heward, R. J. Hamilton, H. T. Gibson, J. Beaglehole and J. B. Ramsay. Th 6 staff at present comprises 13 teachers and the nominal roll totals about 540 pupils. The school has been fortunate m having had since its foundation the services of very keen and helpful committees, who have been instrumental in effecting great improvements to the extensive grounds and playing fields. An Old. Pupils' Association, of which Mrs. E. M. Foster, an ex-teacheY, is secretary, has been in existence for the past four years and last night its president, Mr. G. Tooman, referred to its useful activities. Several elocutionary and musical 'terns were followed by dancing.
