SEAMAN admits offence COMMITTAL FOR SENTENCE The effects of drink were stated by Peter O'Malley, aged 51, seaman, as the reason for his appearance before Mr. W. R. McKean, S.M., in the Police Court yesterday, when he was charged with breaking and entering the premises of Herman Walter Jagusch, in Fanshawe Street, with intent to commit a crifne.
' 'Since I came out of gaol about two weeks ago I have been working every day from 11 to 12 hours a day at a fishing boat from 4 o'clock in the morning, and was going down to work when this misadventure happened," said accused, in pleading guilty. He admitted having been drinking* previously, and said he was prepared to take out a prohibition order. He was also prepared to pay for a broken window.
Accused was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
