ST. JAMES' CHURCH
NEW MINISTER INDUCTED CEREMONY BY MODERATOR The charge of St. James' Presby» terian Church, Wellington Street, which has been vacant since the Rev. E. R. Harries terminated his ministry there on March 31, was again permanently settled last evening, when the Rev. R. Ferguson Fish was inducted by the Auckland Presbytery. There was a large congregation, and the singing was lod by a strong choir under the direction of Mr. Gerald Lee. The sermon *u preached by the Rev. L. McMaster, the Rev. J. H. Coombes addressed the minister and the congregation, and the Rev. E. J. Tipler, who has been interim moderator of the vacancy, narrated the steps which had led to the appointment of Mr. Fish. The moderator of Presbytery, the Rev. J. A. Thomson, presided and formally in* ducted the new minister.
Mr. Fish bins been for the last eight years in charge of the Carersham Presbyterian Church, Dunedin. He is * native of Jedburgh, and had experience of leadership in religious work in Glasgow and in London before coming to New Zealand. He was a home missionary in Otago for a time, while he completed his studies, and was afterward# minister at Waipukurau before accepting a call to Caversham. He will commence his ministry at St. Jamos Church on Sunday, when Communion services will be held. Qn Tuesday evening he and his family will be welcomed all a congregational social.
