VEHICLE OVERLADEN
TRAVELLING VAUDEVILLE [from our own correspondent] PUKEKOHE, WednDßrlny Stated to be the proprietors of a travelling vaudeville show, Roger P. Ginders and his wife, Glory Ginders, were charged in the Pukekohe Magistrate's Court to-day with exceeding the heavy traffic licence for their vehicle, and with having no classification plates affixed to it. The charges were brought by the traffic inspector for the Main Highways Board, T. C. Clissold, who also prosecuted the driver, Owen Lorraine, for driving without a licence.
The inspector said he had weighed the machine on the Great South Road on August 9, when it was heavily laden with show gear, and going from Auckland to Thames. Its gross weight was 3 tons 18cwt., while the.licence allowed for two tons, The difference in yalde wa§ £2 10s. Lorraine was fined £l, with costs 10s A fine of £2, with costs 15s, was imposed on the other defendants on the charge of overloading, and a fine of £l, with costs 15s, on the other charge. Each, defendant was ordered to pay half these amounts.
