Notice ia hereby given that the Birkenhead Borough Council has made application for the issue of an Order-in-Council, pursuant to Section 85 of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933. authorising that Council to fix water charges according to the quantity used. The effect of the iss»ie of such an Order-•ln-Council will be thnt the Birkenhead Borough Council may charge for the ordinary supply (as well as the extraordinary supply) of water by meter according to the quantity used, in lieu of water rates (as at present) made and levied in accordanco with the provisions of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1933. All persons affected who object to the proposed method of charging for the ordinary supply of wafer are hereby notified that any objections in writing to or petitions against the issue of the said Order-in-Council must be lodged with the Minister of Internal Affairs, Wellington, within one month from the first publication of this notice.
