NEW CATTLE PAVILION

$ STRUCTURE AT FEILDING

SALEYARD FACILITIES [by telegraph—own correspondent] FEILDING. Saturday Constructed at a cost of £3OOO, the new cattle pavilion and yards at Feilding were opened in the presence of a large gathering of farmers and others, the ceremony being conducted by Mr. L. Gardiner, of the firm of Dalgety and Company, Limited. To mark the occasion the first pens of dairy cattle sold by each auctioneering firm were offered without reserve, and each vendor donated Is per head toward the funds of the District Nurse Association.

Although the new pavilion was designed to hold about 500 people, it is expected that with the standing room available close on 1000 people could be accommodated. Offices for the four auctioneering firms operating in the yards are provided, as well as a railway office and telephone booth. All the pens and races leading to the pavilion are inter-communicating and constructed in accordance with the very latest ideas in stockyard design
