TRAMCARS IN COLLISION

ACCIDENT IN WELLINGTON [BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION] * WELLINGTON, Friday A collision between two tramcars occurred in Wellington, opposite the Government Buildings, late this afternoon. Both tramcars wore fairly badly damaged, but- although one was full of passengers, nobody was injured. The collision was caused by a fault in the automatic point changing. One tramcar, bound for Karori, was turning up Molesworth Street, when the points slipped back before the rear bogey had passed. The back of the tramcar slewed round in the direction of Lambtoii Station, and while it was still moving, it was struck by the other car coming from the station.
