BALL AT WHAKATANE

V HUNT CLUB FUNCTION [BT TELEGRAPH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] "WHAKATANE. Thursday There was a large gathering of dancers in the Winter Show building, Whakatane last evening, the occasion being the Bay* of Plenty Hunt Club ball. The hall had been attractively decorated in shades of gold, green and red, and appropriate hunting symbols added greatly to the appearance of the hall. The ladies on the committee responsible for the great success of the ball w^re: —Mrs. W. C. Roberts, Mrs. C. Duncan, Mrs. H. Gordon, Mrs. W. Thompson, Mrs. R. Turpin, Mrs. P. Sisam, Misses I. and W. Turpin, Misses U. and J. Roberts, Miss D. Allan, Miss K. McCracken, and Miss J. Thompson. Among those present were:—Mrs. G. R. Yeoman, Mrs. Gordon, Mrs. H. M. Dewar, Mrs. D. V. Saunders, Mrs. F C. Williams, Mrs. F. C. Old, Mrs. N. Carter, Miss K. Anderson (Tarafiaki), Miss Butler (Opotiki), Misses L. and S. Parkinson (Opotiki), Miss B. Howell, Miss S. Ryburn.
