Sir Stephen Allen, of Morrinsvillo, chairman of the Transport Co-ordina-tion Board, is visiting Wellington. The Hon. Alport Barker, of Suva, who has been visiting Auckland, will return to Suva by the Monterey today. Squadron-Leader T. M. Wilkes, Director of Air Services, returned to Wellington by the limited express last evening. Mr. L. A. Quinn, of the Fuller-Hay-ward Corporation, who has been visiting Auckland, returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. C. J. Lovegrove will leave by the Monterey to-day for Suva. He will return by the Niagara, arriving at Auckland on September 3. Captain L. Vaughan Morgan, second naval member of the Naval Board, was a passenger from Wellington by yesterday morning's limited express: He returned to Wellington last evening. Mr. G. Bryan, examiner for the Associated Board of the Royal Academy of Music and the Royal College of Music, London, arrived in Auckland yesterday and is at the Hotel Cargen. Archbishop lAverill, Archdeacon W. J. Simkin and Canon E. H. Strong returned from Wellington by the express yesterday morning, after attending meetings in connection with Anglican Synod affairs. Squadron-Leader J. D. Hewett and Ftying-Officer C. E. Kay, both of Auckland, who will ily the New Zealand Centenary Air Race Committee's entry in the forthcoming race from London to Melbourne, have arrived in London. A cablegram received in Auckland yesterday stated that the two pilots were fit after a good trip.

Mr. S. W. M. Stilling, representative in New Zealand of the Australian National Travel Association, returned to Wellington last night after making his final official visit to Auckland. His office is being taken over by the Australian Trade Commissioner. Mr. It. Nesbitt, who will arrive in Wellington on August 29. Mr. Stilling will return to Australia on September 7. Mr. J. A. C. Allum, chairman of the Auckland Transport Board, Mr. W. J. Holdsworth, chairman of the Auckland Electric-Power Board, Mr. R. Ferner, Mayor of Mount Albert, Mr. H. F. W. Meikle, Mayor of Devonport, and Mr. J. Guiniven, Mayor of Takapuna, returned yesterday morning from Wellington, - where they attended a conference called by the Municipal Association. . , .-j... Dr. C. D. Marshall Day, formerly of Wellington, has been awarded the degree of master of science by the T73iversitv of Rochester, New York. In 1931 Dr. Day was granted a research fellowship by the Rockefeller Foundation and for the past two years and a-half has been engaged in research work in the fields of physiology and pathology. Following an appointment on the teaching staff of Otago University, Dr. Day practised his profession for seven years in Pahiatua.
