AMERICAN,. WOEKEES TEXTILE INDUSTRIES WAGES AND CONDITIONS DEMAND FOR IMPROVEMENT By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Received August 19. 5.5 p.m.) NEW YORK, August 13 Strikes involving 325,000 additional workers were decided upon this evening in the woollen and worsted, silk rayon and synthetic rayon knitters' industries by the convention of the United Textile Works of America. Yesterday the convention had voted for a strike in the cotton textile industry, which employs 500,000 workers, l.he delegates representing the silk and rayon industries left to the discretion of the new executive committee of the United Textile Workers and the executive committees of their own branches the time strikes are to be called. The woollen and worsted and the synthetic rayon workers, however, decided to go out at the same time as the cotton textile employees. The convention had decided to call at 72 hours' notice a cotton textile strike on or before September 1 in an effort to force the employers to pay increased wages and give improved working conditions.
