SUDDEN DEATH
COLLAPSE WHILE SHOOTING POPULAR ACTRESS' HUSBAND (Received August 19. G. 35 p.m.) LONDON, August 19 The death has occurred of the Hon. Maurice Brett. He collapsed while grouse shooting at Callander, Scotland, while his wife, Miss Zena Dare, was on the stage in Glasgow. The news was withheld from the actress until after the conclusion of the performance when she motored at midnight to Callander. The Hon. Maurice Brett: who had the military rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, was 52 years of ago. He was educated at Eton and Sandhurst. Ho entered the Coldstream Guards at the age of 20 and gained his captaincy eight years later. Ho next joined the 6th Battalion of tlie Black Watch. He was A.D.C. to Sir .Tolm French from 1904 to 1912. He served in Franco throughout the Great War and was four times mentioned in despatches. He had been Assistant Keeper and Librarian to tho London Museum since 1919. He married A 1 iss Zona Dare in 1911. There is a family of one son and two daughters.
