CHURCH MEETINGS

ELLERSLI E PRESBYTERIANS Gin' OF £loo' RECEIVED Tim annual congregational meeting of tho E!lerslio Presbyterian Church was presided over by Rev. S. E. Hill. The chairman expressed satisfaction with the work of tho year just closed. Despite the present difficult times tho church had held its ground in membership and finance. The subsidiary organisations were working harmoniously and giving invaluable help; the young men's and young women's Bible classes and the Sunday school were flourishing, a rather remarkable fact in connection with the Sunday school being the great preponderance of boys on the roll.

The treasurer's report, presented by Mr. R. H. Mather, disclosed that revenue and expenditure were very nearly balanced, though a comparison of results with those of previous years was difficult owing to the change in the date of closing the church books. All outside quotas had been fully supplied and the church property adequately maintained.

It was announced that the sum of £IOO, in the form of an interest-bearing bond, had been donated by. Mr. R. H. to tho Sunday .school and placed fn trus't as a permanent endowment.
