HOCKEY TEAM'S TOUR
PARTY FROM AUSTRALIA ARRIVAL THIS MORNING The visiting Australian hockey team will arrive in Auckland this morning by the Wanganella from Sydney, and will play the first match of its tour against Waikato at Hamilton to-morrow afternoon. The party will be met on arrival by officials of the New Zealand and Auckland Hockey Associations and will later be entertained j:o luncheon at th§ Station Hotel. The deputy-Mayor Mr. A. J. Entrican, will be present and will welcome the team on behalf of the citizens of Auckland. A practice will be held at the Remuera grounds this morning and the team will leave for Hamilton by train" this afternoon. The second match will be played at Dannevirke on Monday, while the test match will be played at Dunedin on September 8. The game against Auckland, will be played at Eden Park on September 15, as a cur-tain-raiser to the Auckland-Taranaki representative Rugby match. The team is as follows:—Goalkeepers, N. Watson (Queensland) and L. Reid (New South Wales); fullbacks, E. Rothwell, J. Elliott and K. Le Lievre (New South Wales); halfbacks, A. J. Irvine, A. Lee, E. Cullen and A. Haytor (New South Wales); forwards, G. F. Milner (Western Australia), J. Allen (South Australia), M. Stening, C. A. Leggett, K. A. Penman and P. Tester (New South Wales), G. Minto (Victoria). Mr. W. Rothwell, New South Wales, is accompanying the team as manager, while Mr. G. Milner, president of the Western Australian Hockey Association, and Mr. H. Flockart, a member of the management committeo of the Australian Hockey Association, are members of the official party.
