SPREAD OF RAGWORT
CONCERN IN HAWKE'S BAY [by TELEGRAPH —OWN correspondent] HASTINGS, Monday Concern at tho spread of ragwort on farm lands in Hawke'a Bay was expressed by members of the Hnwkc's Bay County Council at a mooting today. The chairman, Mr. F. B. Logan, said the council could not enter a man's property, but could notify the inspector of noxious weeds. Ho thought that a letter should be written to the inspector pointing out the gravity of the position and urging that every step should be taken to deal with tho matter. "1 have no faith in the department," said Mr. Logan. "Hero in Hawko's Bay we have blackberry overrunning tho country where there was none when I was a boy. In many places which were clear then the land is now practically useless. That has happened with the knowledge of the department.
