AFTER 16 YEARS

WAR MEMORIAL TO BE BUILT Sixteen years ago Newhaven, a small fishing village near Edinburgh, decided to have a war memorial. That decision is now to be carried out. Owing to trade depression the construction of the memorial was delayed. Now, a 79-year-old villager, Mr. John Pottinger, has made a gift to the village. It will tako the form of a marble plaque, framed in a deep red stone, and will be placed in the centre of a new block of houses which- are being erected in the village. Nearly eighty names will be inscribed on the memorial, which is to be unveiled this summer. 0
