ALPINE SPORTS CLUB
VISIT TO NATIONAL PARK With crisp snow lying deep on Scoria Plat and the sun promising to shine brilliantly on the colourful array of " woollies " which makes the National Park such a gay place throughout the winter, conditions should be perfect for the fortunate people who are now planning a holiday visit to the Chateau. As usual the Alpine Sports Club will be represented by a large party, the main body of which will leave Auckland on August 11 with 10 days to try—or demonstrate—their skill on skis. Skiing practice will be the order of the first few days of the trip as the club contests for the various championship medals are to be held during the visit, a special incentive being a beautiful pair of skis donated as a prize by Mrs. R. M. Algie, a foundation member of the club and a former vice-president. The party, which will travel under the leadership of Mr. A. D. Jcffery, will include Miss Josephine Tolhnrst, Miss Mary Smith, Miss Irene Rowe, Miss Doris Paddison, Miss Ada Wilkinson, Miss Fay Pascoe, Miss Beth Hughes, Miss R. Willis, Miss Betty Richwhite, Miss N. Andrews, Miss Imelda Murdoch, Miss Betty Crowther and Miss Gladys McMillan.
