CRICKET TOUR

AUSTRALIAN TEAM WARWICKSHIRE MATCH VISITORS OUT FOR 221 COUNTY THREE FOR 20 By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright LONDON, August 9 When play was begun to-day in the cricket match between Australia and Warwickshire at Birmingham the visitors batted first on a wicket which had been affected by rain. Brown again failed, and McCabe and Darling were scratchy, Wyatt's first eight overs cost only two runs. Darling was twice dropped before lie was out. Kippax and Chipperfiehl were batling well until Paine, whom the test selectors were watching, palpably worried Kippax before he claimed his wicket. Chipperlield was batting nicely until he played one on, and when Bromley went the total was only 123 for six wickets. Grimmett and Oldfield figured in a stand of 50, made in 40 minutes, before Oldfield was caught after an excellent fighting innings. Grimmett was applauded for making the top score of the innings, which lasted 260 minutes and yielded 221. Warwickshire opened its innings at 5.40 p.m. in an indifferent light.
