PLUNKET SOCIETY

CONFERENCE REPORTS The monthly meeting of tho committee of the Plunket Society was held on Wednesday. The president, Mrs. J. C. Allan, presided, and the following members were present: —Lady Sinclair Lockhart, Mother Hannah, Mesdames W. H. I'arkos, D. Nathan, G. M. Fowlds, R. Tracy Inglis, J. W. Lethbridge, A. Campbell, R. S. Whitley, W. H. Worrall, S. Konrick, D. Ogilvie, R. P. Towle, T. Holmden, H. Gulliver, M. H. Campbell, J. E. Cowell, R. W. Bissett, C. Webb, R. B. Cruiokshank, L. J. Shrubsall, N. Campbell, E. J. Wilkinson, J. M. McLachlan, G. S. Lintott, E. H. Bocho, A. Donald, B. G. Milligan, J. C. Whitney, C. White, E. J. Cronin, H. B. Kirker, Miss Statham. Tho Knritnne and district reports for the month of July were read by the matron and charge-nurse respectively. The latter report showed that 44 now cases had been advised in the pre-natal section, and 151 new babies had conie under the supervision of the nurses, who had also paid 1050 visits to homes, while the visits to tho various offices totalled 7456.

After business matters had been dealt with a very interesting account of the proceedings of the general conTerence was given by the delegates. Tho new rules as approved by the conference were discussed and congratulations extended to Mrs. W. H. Parkes on the important work she had accomplished, in conjunction with tho other members of the rules revision committee, as sot up by the executive of the council.

A conference of tho sub-committees of the Auckland branch is to be hold at headquarters on the afternoon of the next monthlv meeting, September 12.
