ST. LUKE'S, RQTORUA ENLARGEMENT OF BUILDING [BY TELEGRArH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Thursday The annual meeting of parishioners of St. Luke's Church was held last evening. A good attendance was presided over by the vicar, Archdeacon F. W. Chatter'ton. The balance-sheet showed a satisfactory financial position A feature of the report was reference to tho work of enlarging the church building, which had been accomplished during tho y«ar at a cost of £371, the whole of which had been paid. Messrs. J. Halkett and J. M. Hemphill were elected churchwardens for the ensuing year and Mr. A. W. Shaw as auditor. The following vestrymen were appointed:—Messrs. W. W. Phall. A. H. Foggin, A. H. Fraer, W. Chambers, G. H. French, C. H. Robinson, W. A. Carter, J. Newbury, G. H. Harris and N. Hinton.
ROTORUA PRESBYTERIANS INCREASED ACTIVITIES [BY TELEGRArH —OWN CORRESPONDENT] ROTORUA, Thursday There was a good attendance at the annual meeting of St. John's Presbyterian Church, Rotorua. last evening. The Rev. J. C. Young presided. The report showed that the church activities had been very favourable. A home mission had been established at Ngongotaha and services were now being conducted at six out-stations. The membership of the church had increased by 13 and congregations had been consistently large throughout tho period. The credit balance at the end of the period was £95, as compared with £2(3 at the commencement. Officers for the year wore elected as follows:—Elders, Messrs. W. Jones. F. A. Gainsford, J. A. Locke, R. D. Garriock, J. M. Roberts, L. L. Bailey; management committer, Messrs GE. Foster, F. Greenfield, T. Lindsay, W. A. McLean, J. S. Mathias, E. Robertson, J. B. Shields, G. Urquhart. W. J. Woolliams.
ONEHUNGA ACTIVITIES Reports of tho many activities of the Onehunga Presbyterian Church, presented to "the 74th annual meeting of the congregation, showed that every branch of work was in a flourishing condition. The Rev J. W. McKenzie, interim moderator, who presided, announced that the Rev. L. McMaster, of Wools ton, Christchurch, would be introduced into the charge on September 13. It was reported that there were 227 names on the communion roll and there were 297 Sunday School pupils, including those at the two branch schools. There were 74 Bible Class members. A credit balance of £26 was reported. The liability on the church buildings stood at £529 Appreciation was expressed of the services rendered the congregation by Mr. McKenzie since the Rt. Rev. I). D. Scott s resignation. Thanks were accorded to the Rev. W Butterworth for filling the interim supply. The following officers were elected:— Managers, Messrs. J. R. Bowman, L. Da vies and R. A Falla; auditors, Messrs. J Park and L. A. Whyte; delegate to the Council of Christian Congregations, Mr. H. Murdoch.
WORK AT KOHIMARAMA Satisfactory reports on all branch activities of the parish were received at the annual meeting of the Kohimarama Presbyterian Church on Tuesday night. The Rev. J. A. Thomson, moderator, presided over a large attendance. The Sunday school roll had reached the record number of 100. Votes of appreciation of tho work dono during tho year wore passed to the Rev. C E Perkins, minister of the church, and Mrs. Perkins, Mrs. Phillips, superintendent of the Sunday school, the Sunday school teachers and tho members of the Ladies' Guild.
