THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE / OPERATIONS RESTRICTED Operations' on the Auckland Stock Exchange yesterday wcro somewhat restricted and a smaller volume of trading; was recorded. There was a steady demand for general investment issues. Oilers for/ Government loans again moved upward, the rises ranging from 5s to 10s. /All the 3} per cent issues were sought at £'loß. However, holders were silent and no selling took place. I Levels for banks were practically unchanged. Interest was centred chiefly in New Zealands and Reserve Bank. Selling in New Zealands opened 3d higher, at -16s 6d and closed at that price, after a middle transaction at 46s 9d. Reserve Banks sold twice at the current rate, £6 6s 3d. Inquiry was unchanged to firmer for all insurances, except South British, which had slightly easier support. Australian Provincials changed hands Id cheaper at 10s Id and Standards at 66s 3d, a rise of Is. Leading industrials had firm support, but the range of dealing con- / tracked. Holders of Auckland Gas were a shide easier after business unchanged at i.'os, and buyers advanced their limits A rise in offers for Union Steaiji Ships, preference, accompanied a transaction unchanged at 275, while a concession by sellers was responsible for trading in Wilsons Cements at the current rate, 30s. Colonial Sugars gained. 5s on sale at £64 15s.
