MR. ROBINSON'S FUNERAL TRIBUTES BY COLLEAGUES The popularity of the late Mr. R. C. Robinson, one of Auckland's bestknown traffic inspectors, whose death occurred on Tuesday, was shown by the large attendance at the funeral vestcrday morning. The interment took place at Hillsborough Cemetery and was preceded by a service at Mr. Robinson's residence, 43 St. Stephen's Avenue, Parnell. The Rev. R. G. Coats officiated. . Mr. G. R. Hogan, chief traffio inspector for the City Council, and all members of his staff were present. A guard of honour was provided bv the traffic inspectors, six of whom, all intimate friends of Mr. Robinson, acted as pallbearers. The funeral procession was led up St. Stephen's Avenue and as far as the intersection of Parnell Road and Domain Drive by traffic inspectors, police, representatives of suburban local bodies' traffip departments, tramwav employees and members of the Auckland Transport Club, brigadesmen employed by the Auckland Metropolitan Fire Board, and representatives of the Automobile Association, the St. .John Ambulance Association and various taxicab and transport interests. The representatives of the City Council at the funeral were the deputymayor, Mr. A. J. Entrican, Messrs. G. Grey Campbell, J. Ij. Coaklcy and Mr. A. Rosser, members of the council, and Mr. J. S. Brigham, town clerk. Senior police officers present, were Superintendent S. Till, Inspector J. Hollis and Sub-Inspector D. Scott. The Auckland Transport' Board was represented bv Messrs. H. H. Morgan, E. Foster aiid W. Maddigan, three of its senior officers, and the Automobile Association was represented by Mr. RE. Champtaloup, touring manager, and members of the staff and patrols. Tn order that all Mr. Robinson's colleagues in the traffic department' of the City Council might attend the funeral, the police controlled the traffic in the city for two hours from 10.30 a.m.
