DEATH FROM BURNS
YOUNG BOY'S FATE
FALL INTO BOILING WATER ACCIDENT AT FACTORY [i'nOM OUR OWN correspondent] HAMILTON. Wednesday The death occurred early this morning of Elmer William Cresswell, need nine years, who was admitted to the Waikato Hospital on Monday evening, suffering from extensive burns on the body. The burns were received vton hu accidentally fell into a vat of boiling water at the Eureka cheese factory. Deceased was a son of the manager of the factory, Mr. C. J. Cresswell. An il'quest was held to-day before the coroner, Mr. S. L. Paterson, S.M. Evidence that he was talking to the boy shortly before the acfcider.t occurred was given by Percj Hint/,, an employee at the factory. Ho said le did not know the boy had stumbled into the vat until he heard a splash. He then ran back and pulled him out. Dr. H. C. Barratt, a member of the staff of the Waikato Hospital, gave evidence that when he examined deceased ho was suffering from severe shock caused by burns, which covered over half the surface of his body. A verdict was returned that death was caused by shock following sovero burns accidentally received.
