THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE further insurance gains "Firmer movements predominated in an improved volume of business in the Investment market 011 the Auckland. Stock Exchange yesterday. Several other issues were stronger 011 the levels. "Gains were registered by each of the insurance companies dealt in. South British advanced to new high levels in dealing at 83s 6d and 83s 9d, a full rise of 9d. New Zealands moved up 3d on the ex dividend sale at 62s on the pre- , vicus day and Nationals had sale similarly higher'*at 19s 9d. 0 Pastoral shares were weaker, with the exception of Farmers' Auctioneerings, the £5 paid issue of which changed hands again at 755. Business was recorcled in/Dalgetys at £9 2s on a slow market and Goklsbrough-Morts -wore released Is 3d below the level of the last Bale mad** in July. Industrial shares were fairly active and higher levels ruled for Devonport Ferries and New Zealand Newspapers, both of which were done 3d higher, and Staples' Brewery, in which dealing took place cum dividend at a rise of 6d. There was a loss of Id in Renown Collieries' preference on sale at Is 5d and P. and O. deferred stock was substantially weaker than recent rates in business at 18s 3d.
