QUESTION OF GUARANTEE INDICATION OF CONDITIONS [BY TELEGRAPH —PBESS ASSOCIATION] NELSON, Wednasday While not speaking for the Government or committing it in any way, Mr. J. A.. Campbell, director of the Horticultural Division, outlined to tho Nelson provincial fruitgrowers' conference conditions which he felt certain the Government would impose if the guarantee was renewed next year. These wera that the Control Board should take complete control, no nomination of brokers, a system of pooling on as wide a scale as possible, and within reason the development of outside markets.
HIGH EXCHANGE RATI "SAVED THE INDUSTRY" [BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION] NELSONj Wednesday The directors' report submitted to the Nelson provincial conference of the New Zealand Fruitgrowers' Federation to-day stated that the action of the Government in fixing the exchange at 25 per cent had practically saved the industry from bankruptcy.
