INJURIES PROVE FATAL

HENDERSON CROSSING SMASH Tho death occurred in tho Auckland Hospital shortly after 5 a.m. yesterday of Mr. Peter Estich, aged 45, who was admitted on Thursday night with severo head injuries received in a levelcrossing accident at Henderson. Mr. Estich, who was married, lived in Fanfihawo Boad, Henderson, and was a wine merchant. Mr. Estich was driving a van along Valley Road toward Henderson and when negotiating tho level crossing about 200 yards south of tho Henderson station, tho vehicle was struck by a passengor train. Mr, Estich was tho only occupant of the van. An inquest was opened by Mr. Wyvern Wilson, S.M., coroner, yesterday morning, and after formal evidence of identification had been taken, was adjourned sino dio.
